new work

I have been working on my dodging and burning techniques lately.

This a piece titled "Struggle"

I plan on printing and framing this as a fine art piece, and placing it on my wall... let me know if you want one for yourself.

Doing it

I'm doing it, though I must admit, it feels remarkably similar to being unemployed...

So far I have been updating my Lightroom Catalogue, deleting old crap and generally trying to increase the efficiency of my Mac Pro.

I have also been sorting through our Pink shoot; we will be submitting these photos, as a set, to Zivity.com for approval and entry into their Valentine's Day competition. There is a $500 purse for the winner, and that's part of a paycheck for a freelancer... Win or not, this will be our first set for Zivity, which is a subscription community for Alt. Models and Photographers and the like.

Blogging is the other part, lots of blogging, and networking, and trying to keep up my skills as a photographer by test shooting all the time... I am all over my portable flash heads lately; I'm a fan...

I have a fetish photography workshop coming up this weekend with Scott Lanes who happens to be one of my inspirations, so I am really excited about that!! Also, Bebe has a pin-up course in NYC with Bombshell Betty on Sunday. I am heading down with her and will be street shooting NYC for the first time! And I am extra excited about it because I finally fixed my Canon G9, so I will be shooting with it on Sunday!!

Whoo Hoo!!!!

I am happy to be living closer to the real dream, the one where we are free...

Next Blog: More about pink and gold too...

Today's the day!

Today is my last day working as a wage slave. Beginning tomorrow, I am officially in my new career as a freelance photographer. I am both excited and wary of what this means, but it is good for me...

I am also about to start putting more time into my Photoshop skills. I plan on creating some before and after diptics to display my glamour retouching prowess and also plan on completing a Photo-illustraition composite piece each month... People need to know my skills.

Many shoots are in the pipeline for the upcoming month and my regular blog posts will document the journey...

And I can hardly wait!

A Time for Change

I put in my two-week notice of resignation on Monday. It’s just time, and if I don’t do it now, when will I? I am a photographer, you see, an Artist, and I don’t respond well to authoritarian rule! So I’m going to do this photographer thing full-time.I have multiple sources of income right now through the Photoshop work to the Corporate events, Architectural shots, and a Wedding here and there. But what is really making this quitting thing necessary is the work I am shooting for Focal Impulse studio! We started shooting boudoir sessions for everyday women and it’s been an undeniable hit!! $350 for a 4 hour boudoir shoot, 3 outfits, with 5 fully Glam-shopped images! If you look at what this usually costs this private session is a Great deal!! And by the number of clients we have now, many people agree!
Good times, exciting times!
Ps… Exciting is a clever euphemism for stressed the fuck out!! This is good for my soul, however, as I can now create my art!
